Open Day Saturday 14th June

A planning meeting for volunteers on the open day will
take place at 8pm on Friday 6th June at the clubhouse .

The OPEN DAY  is fast approaching and as usual its a great opportunity to promote our club and its activities in our local community. This year the emphasis on the fundraising aspect of the day is for our own club funds for a change! Why? Well one of the projects in the pipeline is the refurbishment of the club house incorporating disability access and this is focusing minds, as there is a huge amount of money we need to raise in order to do this. So we need to make a start.
The theme of the day is the Commonwealth, to commemorate the up coming games in Glasgow. We want lots of Commonwealth flags and colours to adorn our boats and stalls on the day.  There will be a prize for the best dressed boat, and also there will be a prize for the best Commonwealth national costume outfit. The following website can supply you with Commonwealth flags and bunting if you wish:
Your sailing club needs you!!!!

Before then we are looking for volunteers to bake cakes, to prepare games for the day, boat owners prepared to offer their boats up for a day trip silent auction, and lots of donations for the tombola. There will be a tombola donations boxes in the portacabin at Whiteness, and in the clubhouse kitchen from this weekend onwards.
On the day we are looking for an army of volunteers to help serve tea's and cake, the bbq, manning the stalls and boat trip ticket table, marshalling visitors to and from boats/pontoons and a PA announcer.
Most of all we want you to come and enjoy this day with your families and friends and hope to see you on the 14th June.
