First weekend of racing

Weekend Cruiser Racing

A great start to this years racing calendar got underway this weekend with seven boats turning out on both days for some thrilling racing. On the Saturday in wind strengths of 12 to 19 knots and after more than two hours of racing, five boats finished close together with Eleanor beating Amrita by eleven seconds.

On the Sunday in warm sunshine, slightly stronger conditions and a different course Amrita squeezed a four second win over Alouette. The general feeling from everyone was that it was a great weekend - why don't the rest of you come and join us!!

Many thanks to Amrita; Alouette; Eleanor; Highland Mist; Hilarity; Hercule; Oink; Windchat and all their crews, and to Nida and Mike for some very welcome and delicious mince & tatties/chilli & rice afterwards.

As last year, I will be taking the odd snap or two of the cruisers and dinghies in action. They will be posted on the following link for anyone who's interested. I can usually get them up by the Monday following the weekends activities, http://www.flickr.com/photos/nairn_sailpix/sets/

Best Regards, Alec.
