Well the weather gods were kind to us and we had a gap in the miserable weather and high winds to hold our Open Day in Nairn Harbour on Saturday, 9th May. There was dinghy sailing and kayaking for the more active and over 120 people took the chance of a wee trip out on club members' boats. A highlight was the Invergordon lifeboat which arrived at noon, performed some tight turning in the harbour before escorting a parade of 20 boats out of the harbour. It returned to allow the public to come aboard and have alook round.
Entertainment was provided by the Nairn District Pipe Band and the Tribal Misfits. The Coastguard had an information stand and the Firebrigade allowed children to help stave off low tide by filling the Nairn with the fire hoses. The RNLI had a coffee morning in the Club House and Basil's manned the BBQ in the club yard.
The day was a great success for the club with over 30 new members signing up. This was followed by a meal and ceilidh in the evening.
