Training continues...

3rd day in a row for training at Whiteness:

2 separate classes for beginners, average age 8 years old, were successfully completed today in light winds. It was very nice to see 5 members of Rosebank P3 out and undoubtedly enjoying the Whiteness experience with their school mates.
A bigger group ventured out next as the wind picked up and the learning curve steepened for everyone. Then we had racers out at the end of the day, practicing Oppie skills until 8pm.

Tomorrow we have 6 adult beginners, (4 club members, 2 newcomers) for James, plus one junior from Forres coming through for a session with me. After school we have planned a fun regatta for all out trainees who feel they can confidently sail a triangle. Children or adults can take part tomorrow starting about 4pm (poss later as we will wait for academy kids to arrive). Unfortunately some of our youngsters are off to Loch Inch, but there should still be a good turnout. If you want to come down and watch and bring something to cook on the BBQ, please do. All club members are welcome.

Special thanks today to Christina for coming to the beginner sessions to help the little ones get started safely and happily. It is fantastic to see our more experienced juniors able and willing to contribute back to the club.
Thank you to the adults again today. And thank you to Joyce, who has been splendidly feeding the all at coaching HQ. She leaves tomorrow, so it will be pasta for the rest of the week here.

Hope to see lots of you tomorrow after school.
