SPONSORED DINGHY SAIL for NSC Open Day May 26, 2012
by Unknown - 13:16 on 28 May 2012
NSC squad dinghy sailors, Matt, Christina, Henry and Calum had an epic coastal sail from Whiteness to Nairn Harbour, arriving just in time to show off to all the 180 odd passengers heading out for boat trips on the cruisers. We didn't plan it that way, but next year we will! Fabulous weather helped make this sail a spectacular success, and both our juniors and the 3 Topper sailors plus support team from Gordonstoun (Lindsay Doig and friends) really enjoyed the adventure. Now that we have broken out of Whiteness once, we will certainly try to do it again...We havent counted the sponsorship money in yet, but it is looking like a good start to the RIB fund. We want to get the rescue boat situation improved asap, so that sea training becomes a possibility for all our competent juniors, not just the squad sailors. Anyone who is able to contribute a fiver or two to this noble cause, if you have not already, you can send a bank transfer to the club, with ref: Rescue Boat Fund. Thanks to all the support crew...we had Robert and Sharon on shore, Angie, Ron and Christine in Scorcher, and Mike and Amy in Chaser, and Lindsay in the Gordonstoun RIB.
