Dinghy Report-Saturday 12th May

by Unknown - 12:47 on 14 May 2012

Whiteness Dinghy Sailing
Sorry for the late cancellation of the Dinghy Sailing on Sunday and the switch to Saturday. The weather forecast was for extreme wind and rain. Saturday was for sun blue skies and less wind. A few hardy souls came out but the wind was very strong. Robert and Christina ventured out in the Bosun and managed to keep it upright. The rescue boat hovered alongside 'hoping' for an opportunity to practice a rescue. The two Evans girls Sarah and Jennifer took out an Optimist, well done to them.

Mariah Weller took delivery of the boat she won in a competition and the weather was not going to put her off. With the help of Paul she launched it and took it out and did very well, it looks lovely and I am sure she will have great fun in it.

Whiteness Tuesday 15th May
Work party required. We plan to have a general tidy at Whiteness on Tuesday evening from around 6pm inside and outside the cabins. There will be an opportunity for some to do a little sailing should the weather be suitable.

Whiteness Sunday 20th May 10am
We plan a really fun day with the people from Windermere so come along and support us and get as many boats on the water as possible. We intend having a barbecue so bring along some food and we will cook it and perhaps a little extra for our guests

I'm from Invergordon Boating Club. Are you having a dinghy regatta this year ?

Instead of the club regatta that we had last year at this time, we are putting all our efforts into the Moray Firth Scottish Youth Series Regatta that Nairn Sailing Club is co-hosting with Chanonry SC. June 30, July 1 at Chanonry SC. Will be a great event...10 classes racing...please try to support the event by encouraging your juniors to enter. Coached fleets as well for novice racers. Go to www.chanonry.org for all info.
